This ‘intelligent’ desiccant dehumidifier is ideal for boats
as it works much better at lower temps than traditional
compressor dehumidifiers. Whilst running it heats the air
by 10-12°C, reducing the relative humidity. Plus, rather
than having the fan run constantly, pushing up electricity
costs, the unit will sample the air for 5 minutes & will then
turn off completely if the relative humidity is lower than
the selected level. After 30 minutes it will check again &
start dehumidifying if necessary. In a well sealed boat this
means that the fan can run for just 10 minutes an hour.
